Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. Is it Easter yet? It feels like Easter is approaching soon. Perhaps some of today’s updates will be connected to the holiday? I don’t know why I’m being coy about it, I already know what’s in there. But you don’t, unless you’re re-reading this article. In which case… thank you? Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it! FINAL FANTASY VI, $17.99 Final Fantasy VI‘s Pixel Remaster is going through the same process Final Fantasy V‘s did. Tons of bugs and unintended behaviors need to be found and fixed, one by one. This update addresses a bunch of them, particularly those connected to resources being consumed even when actions are canceled. I’m sure more bugs will crop up, and this game will be back in these pages before long. Maybe one day they can nail down all of the major bugs and get around to doing something about that font. Crayola Create and Play+, Hitting both the Apple Arcade and regular App Store version of Crayola Create and Play is this spring-themed update to the app. There are all kinds of spring and Easter-related activities to enjoy, including coloring pages, pixel art, egg decorating, and more. This is just the start of a month of fun that will include Unicorn Week and an Easter-specific event. Crayola rocks! Is that… is that still a slogan they use? Oh dear, I am so woefully out of touch anymore. Can someone find my slippers for me? Where did I put my Morbius tickets? Grindstone, A couple of weeks back, the Carnival of Creeps was added to Grindstone. This week, the popular Apple Arcade puzzler has received more levels for the Carnival. To be very precise, there are fifteen new levels to play. There’s also a new blueprint for the Paint Potion. I almost missed the ‘t’ in ‘Paint’ when I was typing that, which would have been a very different sort of potion. Well, anyway. New levels. Run along and solve them now. LEGO® Star Warsâ„¢: Castaways, One of Apple Arcade’s LEGO titles gets a spiffy new update that also introduces a new event based on The Book of Boba Fett. In fact, it introduces the event system as a concept to the game, which means this is just the first of probably many such affairs. There are also some new Hippodrome levels to tackle where you’ll team up with other players to take down enemies in various arenas. Just be careful you don’t end up as the Sarlacc’s lunch. That is a very real threat in the world of Star Wars. Higher chance than you might expect, really. CSR 2 Drag Racing Car Games, Free Apparently CSR Racing 2 is swinging back around to the ninth Fast & Furious movie for another limited-time event. Join the event to get your hands on a variety of cars from the movie, with the top prize being the Pontiac Fiero. I think that one belonged to Tyrese Gibson’s character. There’s also the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, the Toyota GR Supra, and the Mid-Engine Dodge Charger R/T. Besides that, there’s an Easter event with a Rocket Bunny Mazda RX-8 on offer, which as we all know is the vehicle of choice of the Easter Bunny. There are a few other things in here, but I’ll let you discover them yourselves. Sonic Forces – Racing Battle, Free Sonic the Hedgehog has a new movie coming out soon, and not only is it & Tails but it is also & Knuckles. I mean, it’s coming out soon for most of the world. Hitting Japan in August because we live in the future and all that. Don’t think too hard about it. Just as those new characters are coming to the movie universe, they are also joining the Sonic Forces game universe in those movie-specific forms. They’re so fluffy! There’s also a new track connected to this event, so get running on it and add those new characters to your collection. I’ll give this the UMMSotW award for this week because if you squint at Sonic and Knuckles really hard they kind of look like Spider-Man. Genshin Impact, Free It is time once again for a Genshin Impact update. Titled Zephyr of the Violet Garden, this latest version adds new character Kamisato Ayato, a new event called Hues of the Violet Garden, new area The Chasm, a couple of new stories, a new weapon called Haran Geppaku Futsu, and fierce new monster Ruin Serpent. That should keep this rather dedicated and passionate fanbase busy for a while. Wait, some people already finished it all? How soon? Oh, that soon. Well, I suppose that’s how things go sometimes. Commence the wait for the next update! Merge Dragons!, Free It’s been a long while since I included Merge Dragons in these update articles, so what the heck, let’s have a look. I’m sure there are a few events going on, as there always seem to be with this game. Plus, I can count it as the obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle update for this week. So, it looks like we’ve got some new Dragon Missions with some fresh new Dragons to earn in them. There are also apparently some Magical Orbs and Special Parachutes to get your mitts on. So I suppose there aren’t any events going on, and I look like a complete clod. Sigh, Mondays. Mortal Kombat, Free We’re going to finish things by looking at WB Games’ active pair of free-to-play fighters, as they both received updates this week. In Mortal Kombat, Diamond MK11 Fujin arrives to join his brother in battle. He wields the wind, and you might find some merit in adding him to teams containing Raiden and other Elder Gods. With him comes the Elder Wind Tower and Elder Wind Equipment. The Diamond variants of Nightwolf and Erron Black get their Brutalities in this update as well. Aside from the new content, there’s also some UI improvements, including one that allows you to save and load your preferred talent compositions at your leisure. Neat. Injustice 2, Free You know, when I saw this game updated, I thought it must surely be connected to The Batman. But it isn’t. Instead, we’ve got another character from DC’s Dark Nights: Metal series. Batwoman The Drowned is a new Gold character who specializes in Debuffs and Hazards. She’s great for weakening opponents, and she can use a full Crisis Energy meter to activate her Ultimative Hydrokinesis, flooding the entire area and resurrecting Metal teammates. I do wonder if we’ll ever see anything from that new Batman flick? Feels like a missed opportunity, but deeper cuts like these aren’t bad either. That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
