Townscaper isn’t really a game, it’s more like a soothing interactive toy that lets you build fantastical cities out of nothing. And you can pick it up right now from the Play Store. You’ve got a blank slate, and it’s up to you to fill it up with streets, buildings and more. Everything is generated algorithmically, leaving you to mainly just sit back and wonder at what you’ve made. There are no goals or achievements here, just the simple joy of making something out of nothing. And that sounds pretty darn awesome to us. Here’s a trailer. The game is a passion project developed by Oskar Stålberg, who also worked on Bad North. And it’s available to download from the Play Store right this second. Townscaper is a premium release that’ll set you back $5.99, and if you want to give it a go you can pick it up by clicking right here. It’s something different, and that’s the sort of thing we should all be celebrating.
